West Bend Insurance Company is Hiring a Remote Contract Surety Underwriter
Responsibilities will include:
- Oversee selection of bond risks to ensure accounts are in compliance with company and reinsurance underwriting guidelines
- Promote and market the West Bend Surety division throughout assigned territory
- Represent the company at agency and industry related functions
- Maintain underwriting files with superior understanding of financial statement analysis, both personal and business, and of work in process analysis to assess the acceptability of risk
- Develop new business opportunities by capitalizing on a successful track record in the marketing and underwriting of contract surety
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with agents and contractor clients, through phone calls, in-person visits, and other strategic marketing opportunities
Preferred Experience and Skills
- 2 years experience in contract surety underwriting
- Oral and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Analytical and decision-making skills
Preferred Education and Training
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Insurance, or related field, or equivalent experience
